Latches work fine, and motor is whirring strong. I think it's a hydraulic fluid issue, but every dealer I speak with wants to take the whole thing apart for thousands of dollars. It's just not worth it with the age of the car, to drop like 3 grand to fix the roof when the cars probably worth less than 9 grand now.
3. There is no water ingress, nor hydraulic fluid leakage visible (checked by my local independent mechanic) 4. There is no obvious obstruction/issue with the roof itself. This is however, the first time it has been operated in some months, as you might expect. Ambient temp was +8C so nothing abnormal.
It goes like this: when I press the 'open roof' button, the rear shell goes on top of the front shell as it is supposed to, and when it is time for the trunk to open, it does not. I still hear the pump working for another ~5 seconds after which the car gives up and starts flashing red light. It started a few years ago.
25. Jul 24, 2015. #1. The trunk lid wiring harness on my 2000 Roadster was severed in half by the trunk lid hinge. I soldered the wires and covered in shrink tubing. After completing the work I noticed the following: - Power door locks no longer work (worked before repairing wires) - Side marker lights no longer work (worked before repairing wires)
